#HALAWESTJ part one.

So I'm here once again with another lengthy blog post, and this time it's about my one and only soccer team which I have joined in the 09/10 season of social soccer clubs and have stayed ever since then. On our crest, there are the digits "4,7,1 and 0". This particular number order really means that West J. United was started in the year 2010, on the 4th of July. Yeah, I know. It is also the same date that Americans celebrate too, "Independence day". Anyways, our crest has and always will be a pegasus. (I think)

So to start off, here's our current squad for the seniors (not all of them cos this was taken during a MYL match).

Top : Azrul, Akid, Fadhil, Zulfikri, Sabran.
Bottom : Aizat, Asyraaf, Darwis, Fathoni, Khairul.

This team was the one that faced The Boon Keng SRC team during a pre-league match, and I think they had more than enough chances to win the match, only that none were really taken into their stride. What I do know is, our ball possesion  and retention is definitely better than it ever was and it will always get better with every training.

Four plus years in the making, I think that the current West J. family is the strongest ever yet. There are a few faces here and there who have left, and some even came back, but what I can say is, West J is always welcome to new faces and new people. We have travelled to as far as Malacca to face a Malaysian team (of course we seriously got battered and pounded there) but that was because their routine and prcatices were far more serious than ours. And that was in the year 2012. Here's a photo of who went there.

Standing at the back : Nazri, Fathoni, Zahid, Asyraaf, Azrul, Zulfadhli, Chief the great, Dua, Zulfikri, Faris, Nadi, Ayul, Me, Hirfee.
In front : Ai Ai, Ai Xin, Shafwatuddin, Akid, Aizat.

Malacca was essential because it was a trip that was very memorable and influential. Some of them went on to play for clubs for instance, Aizat for Gombak United, Shafwa for Balestier Khalsa, and currently playing for Warriors, and also Zulfikri for Balestier Khalsa also. Not forgetting Nadzmi who also played for Tanjong Pagar at one point of time but he didn't follow us to Malacca.

This trip also was plentiful of experiences, like me getting sick and left alone at the house we stayed in while they went out and ate seafood. I probably had the most amount of Malaysian Ringgit after the trip, hahaha! Anyways the team we were against, were a very strong team. Their wingers were really fast and their midfield were strong. Their forwards were the kind that if you feed them a good enough ball, they will freaking score.

So here's a photo of the whole freaking awesome West J. family, taken last year.

Forgot who the "photographer" was but he/she was in the photo too! The shadow of course hahaha!

So yes, we are a strong team in every way possible. And yes there might be problems here and there, but this man right here, he's the super glue that is the reason why West J. is still alive and burning with passion. He's the man to thank, the man we should be owing (not literally but yes we do owe jersey money), and also the one who started it all. Shafwa's uncle, Chief (not his real name).

The one and only reason why West J. United is still standing strong and has a lot of oppportunities here and there. Thanks Chief!

So yeah there you have it for our West J. story, there's a lot more to say but I wouldn't wanna waste your time hahahaha! At the same time I would like to take this opportunity to feature a few remarkable West J seniors whom I think are the best in their position currently.

Khairul : Forward/Striker/Winger.
Having previously only joined last year, I think that he has the best scoring record playing as a striker, and I only got to know him through a futsal competition quite some time ago. Didn't realize that he is actually 'that' good. Keep up the good work Khai!

Aizat : Defensive Midfield/Centre Midfield.
Currently the better one in midfield or the best that we have in our team! Most probably the guy you will hear screaming and shouting in the field or outside the field because he loves the game that much. Pretty stoked to have him by our side for four years and counting, even though at one point of time he uttered the words "I QUIT", which i wasn't around to see. Ever since then, Aizat is they key to the passing and possession in midfield. Ah here you go, wanted a feature right? HAHAHA AMBIK KAU. Thanks for the words of encouragement all the time during matches to the team man.

Faizul : Attacking midfield/Striker/Winger
Sorry bro, don't have picture of you in jersey ah hahaha! Have but I would rather have candids ceh. I would probably say he was and currently is one of the best attacking midfield talents we have in our team. There are younger ones but I think I'm just gonna talk about the seniors. He's a chef too btw, Rashidah is a lucky girl HAHA. Score more often man, cheers!

So I guess that marks the end of part one. Part two will be uploaded very shortly. Have a nice day and stay awesome guys.

Part two is next!
